We all know that medical technology and its delivery system are changing rapidly and in radical directions. These changes affect everyone, especially the patient and the private-practice physician. I see these changes as both a challenge and an opportunity. As technology changes, I continually reevaluate treatment methods. As healthcare delivery changes, I look for better and better ways to honor my relationship with my patients. For some, change creates anxiety. For me, it is change that keeps me on the cutting edge.
Now let's consider my practice.
I trained at some of the finest medical institutions in the world. Yet when it came to setting up a practice, I chose to settle in a smaller community that placed a high priority on quality locally based medical care. After my Orthopaedic Surgery training at Yale, I was convinced that by establishing a "lean" and intelligently run private practice, I could still deliver state-of-the-art medical care without sacrificing my relationship with you - the patient.
It has turned out to be a good choice.
